The lighthouse of the island 'Ile Vierge'

Since 1902 the lighthouse of the island 'Ile Vierge' has dominated the British Channel 2kms offshore Plouguerneau with its height of 82,5m.
 
Built in granite, this lighthouse is one of the last manned facilities. After climbing the 365 steps of the staircase, you will have an impressive panoramic view over the Atlantic Ocean and the coastal landscape.
 
You can reach the lighthouse on foot on days with exceptional low tides (high coefficient- every two weeks) or by boat from April to October. Please make your enquiries for the opening days and –hours for the passage to the island at Ferry of the Abers: 02.98.04.74.94 (Vedettes des Abers).
